Dreams of Wonder is a young travel agency in the Austin, Texas area. In an industry facing decline, their primary form of communication and reaching the target audience was word of mouth or social media. This allowed the opportunity to boost the credibility of Dreams of Wonder by designing a website that was visually appealing and highlighted his travel services.

Dreams of Wonder is well connected within the Cruise and Disney industry but with no dedicated website, the travel agent lacked credibility to highlight his travel services. This resulted in minimal customer engagament and the underutilization of his travel services offered

To solve this problem,
We learned from users how they felt about using a travel agent via user survey and interviews
conducted market research to understand the industry better.
From the information gathered, we tested and created a website using WIX to strengthen Dreams of Wonder’s credibility, increase user engagement, and provide a seamless user experience that guides visitors towards utilizing their free travel services.
Since creating the website, engagement has significantly increased from about 10% to about 35% and has increased booking with the travel agent, bringing in more revenue.

With Travel agents not being as popular,we did not just want to assume people did not use them because there are websites out there that can pretty much plan everything for you, so we asked people who travel at least once a year what their thoughts where.

This told us that though there are people that like to be independent and use their skills to plan their perfect trip, there are still a lot people that would benefit from the services of a travel agent IF they knew it was the low cost of free and how an agent can help take stress off of planning major trips like Disney, and even help with deals!

Based on the business needs and data collected, we designed a user-friendly navigation system that showcased all of Dreams of Wonder’s services, an easy to scan home page, a user form that covered all the basics and a simple about page to make it more personal. All while ensuring potential clients were not overwhelmed with excessive content.

Constraints With Wix
The client requested no-code development using WIX, posing a learning curve for the team due to platform limitations, prompting adjustments in design and responsiveness to ensure compatibility across various browsers and screen sizes.
The client also wanted us to do no-code development using WIX. We’d never used WIX to build for a company website before, so it was a learning experience for all of us. The limitations with customizations, made us rethink our designs and how we can now make them fit to WIX’s platform. After testing, we also learned that there was an issue with responsiveness and that it is different when it came to different browsers (i.e Chrome and Safari), so we had to figure out what worked best for different screen sizes on different systems.

I was able to catch a few mistakes, but while reviewing again to write this case study, I noticed more issues and will go back to fix them.
I need to continuously educate myself on the latest accessibility standards and guidelines. I also need to incorporate accessibility checks throughout the design and development process.
